Earls Court area is in many ways a village, with a wonderful community atmosphere. There are hundreds of things to see, do, taste and experience in this popular and diverse area. It is also a fantastic gateway to all of London, being well connected to the A4 and offering direct access to Heathrow, as well as having 3 tube lines, and many bus and train lines. Some of the U.K.'s best-loved events are hosted in this neighbourhood, and the street market plays a central role in binding together the mixed community. Earls Court itself is one of the oldest, biggest and most well-known exhibition centres in the world. It has a pedigree of exhibition excellence, having hosted such old-time greats as Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show 120 years ago! Earl's Court Marina is a classy water feature, and a great place to stop for a drink or a bite. Alternatively, explore the sophisticated stretch of Brompton Rd that is home to no shortage of restaurants and chic bars. Dim Sum at the Dragon Palace is a not-to-be-missed local "must", as is a visit to the Scarsdale Arms Pub. This historic Georgian space is on a quiet side street, and may take some doing to locate, but they offer great ales and a fulkl-fledged restaurant in addition to their historic claim of being built as aq headquarters for the officers of Napolean's conquering army! The area is an architectural feast as well, from the stuccoed houses off of Brompton Road and Gloucester Roads, to the much larger and impressive homes near Kensington Gardens. The wide leafy streets, many squares and parks, and the nearby Kensington Palace all lend a graceful, spacious sense to this part of London. London Vacation Rental location
