Chiswick Park : 15 min Route 272 : Shepherd Bus tube station (main line to London central) Chiswick and Fulham are neighbouhoods in south west London. Fully incorporated in Greater London, they none-the-less offer a bit of village-in-the-city feel. These areas are predominantly quiet and residential with Victorian terraces and pretty 18th century houses along the Thames. There are many green spaces, and Thames foot paths, from Putney Bridge to Barnes. You can picnic on Barnes Common, or sip a pint by Parson's Green. Easy transportation connections and regentrification have made this once suburban area very trendy. Some famous locals (born and bred here) are Helen Mirren, Phil Collins and Colin Firth. Devonshire Road is in the heart of Chiswick, and has a lovely cluster of life-style and designer boutiques, art galleries, bars and restaurants. Wild Swan's is a Scandinavian fashion boutique for women, and is well worth a browse. The Devonshire is Gordon Ramsay's famous gastropub, and La Trompette is a Michelin starred restaurant with fine French cuisine. At night this area comes alive with a diverse range of pubs, bars and clubs. The Duke of Sussex (75 South Park) has an enormous beer garden with an equally enormous beer menu - in warm weather it's a greatoutdoor spot as well. Beautiful loft conversion attached to a Victorian Griffin Fueller's brewery offers guide tours. Experience the history and heritage of this histroical Brewery. Up to 20 tours a week are offered and lead by excellent guides culminating with a tasting (provided you are over 18). The tour of the Griffin Brewery incorporates all parts of the brewing process from the arrival of the raw materials to the packaging of the beer on the cask racking line. The full tasting session of Fuller’s beers includes London Pride. Visitors will also be able to see the Fuller’s wisteria – which is believed to be the oldest in the country. Tours last approximately 1½ -1¾ hours. Must be booked in advance as space is limited.
